Newport, VTPros: Historic downtown, Lake Memphremagog, great nearby skiing in the winter and golf in the summer...
Cons: Not many people know about all the gifts our little city by the lake has to offer - and maybe that's a plus, because your won't feel cramped walking along the boardwalk on the waters edge or traversing around the lake on our beautiful bike path.
This is a good place to Ski at nearby ski areas Jay Peak and Burke Mountain, walk the mountains (when you take the high road or the low road around here it won't matter who gets there first!)...
General info: Our location is convenient to Interstate 91 and we have one of Vermont's most beautifully restored old libraries - Goodrich Memorial and we are home to one of the state's best hospitals (North Country Hospital), and our fire department, ambulance and public services are celebrated for their efficiency and effectiveness.Blog about Newport
