Boerum Hill is a neighborhood of Brooklyn
Boerum Hill's northern boundary is Schermerhorn Street. Its eastern border is 4th Avenue. There is disagreement, however, on the southern and western boundaries. The Boerum Hill Association considers the southern boundary to be a combination of Wyckoff and Warren Streets, but many residents say the neighborhood extends as far south as Degraw Street.
Former and merged names include:
· South Brooklyn
· North Gowanus
· Downtown Brooklyn
Early development was spurred by construction of the Gowanus Canal in the 1840s.
Local festivals include:

- Atlantic Avenue ArtWalk - June 9-10, 2007
