French Quarter is a neighborhood of New Orleans.
Also known as Vieux Carre
J&M Recording Studio, which operated on North Rampart Street, popularized the early music of such artists as Little Richard and Ray Charles.
Local foods: In addition to the many creole restaurants, the area is known for its Lucky Dogs - hot dogs sold from wienie-shaped carts. A fictional version can be found in John Kennedy Toole's novel, "A Confederacy of Dunces," in which Ignatius J. Reilly, sells wienies in the quarter.
